The guide told us an interesting story.
There was a cult called "the birdman cult" at the sacred
seaside site of Orongo where I ate lunch. Designated
candidates or their stand-ins navigated the rough seas on a
small reed raft starting from Orongo and camped, perhaps for
weeks, on a nearby rocky islet. The goal was possession of
the first Tern egg of the season. On safe return of the egg,
the candidates would be named "birdman" and co-ruler for the year.
Hmhmhm. Far away in old days, I thought of the primitive
people on this island eating lunch.

I've come to Ahu Vinapu which is located in the south of the
island. I expected huge moais, which are looking up to the
sky, to be standing there with dignity, but most of the moai
statues here have fallen down or are half buried. Most of
them are as high as I.

It's significant because of the type of stone work. Very
meticulous masonry is evident here. These stones are cubed
and fitted tightly together.

It's speculated that Easter Island is related to the Inca
Empire because the Inca Empire had the similar buildings
which were made with the stones fitted tightly together.

復活島上的石塊被推測跟印加文化有關係，
因為印加文化也是用這種以石塊相接的方式建築 :)

看了這麼多 復活節島的風景
我對南美洲 有一點點幻想 去找了旅遊的報價 :)
